[SOLVED] Stockable Variants & Multi Variant - Dont work
VMUIkit 2.0.14 (downloaded PM on 23/4/15)
I reported something similar here as a bug - joomlapro.com/vmuikit/forum/bug-reports/...working-in-vm-ui-kit
I have now also tried to use "Stockable Custom Fields" Plugin from BreakDesigns.net - breakdesigns.net/extensions/stockable-custom-fields
And this too doesn't work in the VMUIkit, but does work in Protostar.
Sakis, the developer at Break design has also tested thoroughly with me today and has said "Your template is not VM3 ready with support for multi-variants and child variants."
Please can you advise and help me out?
Is there anything that can be done within VMuikit to fix this?
Will it be added in the future?
I need to use Multi variants or the equivalent from Break Design, but it seems I can use neither with VMUIkit at the moment.
I have test site with all this set up if you need to see or test?
I love VMuikit & don't want to have to find another theme, but I'm under a lot of pressure to provide a working test site, that we can push live soon for a client.
I have all my parent/child products in and set up, but cant set multivariants on them yet as they dont work with VMuikit.
Really appreciate some help/advice ASAP
Currently there is only one product using multi variants that is " Test Product " in this category mynewsite.me.uk/lambretta/clothing/polo-shirts .
I will want the parent product to be NOT orderable & in my case will use the custom name field in the multivariant setup, but at the moment this is not working in vmuikit.
I wrote a better description & added screenshots here - vmuikit.com/forum/bug-reports/307-multi-...working-in-vm-ui-kit
This product here is set up witth parent & children using Virtuemarts core MultiVariant Custom field
It works OK with protostar, but not so well when VMUIkit is enabled. In this setup I opted to use VM Multi variants, with custom name.
But, This product below, is using a 3rd party multi variant plugin called "Stockable Custom Fields" from Break Designs.
Neither of these work very well with VMuikit at the moment.
The "Stockable Custom Fields" plugin, IMHO is the better of the 2 as its easier to use and understand, especially for an administrator of a shop & I am not plugging them, but, there other extensions are pretty good too.
But ultimately I will use, whichever works the best with VMUIkit.
Sakis, the developer at Break Designs, has taken a quick look and has said that the VMUIkit is not ready for multivariants or his plugin yet and suggested that this code needs to be introduced.
3. The template is not Virtuemart 3 ready, or it is missing some of the scripts introduced in Virtuemart 3.
A common problem occurs by the absence of a piece of php code at the end of the productdetails layout.
The path for that layout is: templates/YOUR TEMPLATE/html/com_virtuemart/productdetails/default.php
*YOUR TEMPLATE > The name of your template
The code that should exist at the end of that layout, is this:
$j = "Virtuemart.container = jQuery('.productdetails-view'); Virtuemart.containerSelector = '.productdetails-view';"; vmJsApi::addJScript('ajaxContent',$j); echo vmJsApi::writeJS();
