I discussed a bit today at an event with other eShoppers, the Coupon and gift certificate box, placed in the cart.
This box and text can be a conversion destroyer if it "flashes" too much. It might start customers to browse the internet for discount coupons that might be for your web shop. This can lead to a left cart and no conversion.
Ridestore had tuned this down a bit, to just a small button and if clicked, a drop down "happens". First now the boxes appear.
This is a really cool feature and especially on a mobile device. And we all know, mobile devices will take over more and more as a plattform for eShopping.
(On a mobile, you can't miss the "Coupon yelling" as it is displayed today in standard VM and VMUIkit since more or less, all is stacked on a mobile device. The smaller the display of it pops out, the better. The ones with coupons or gift certificates will find it, since they are looking for it.
Well, just my thoughts, tonight. Couldn't this be something for VMUIkit?
